Construction Craft Laborer

The term of the Construction Craft Laborer occupation will be approximately two (2) years with

an on-the-job learning (OJL) attainment of 4,000 hours supplemented by the required hours of related instruction as stated on the Sample Work Process Schedule and Related Instruction Outline (Appendix A). Full credit will be given for the probationary period.

Home Performance Laborer

The term of the Home Performance Laborer Apprenticeship Program will be approximately one (1) years with an OJL attainment of 2,000 hours supplemented by the required hours of related instruction as stated on the Sample Work Process Schedule and Related Instruction Outline (Appendix A). Full credit will be given for the probationary period.

Nature of Work

Today’s Construction Craft laborer is a person of many talents, able to work on a variety of construction and environmental projects. Physical ability plays a major role in this profession. Laborers’ work runs the gamut from pick and shovel to computers and lasers. The ability to perform a variety of jobs on a single site is vital to success. 

Disclaimer Notice: You must be 18 years of age to enroll/enter into the apprenticeship program. You must have a valid government issued photo ID to be accepted into the apprenticeship program; you do not need one to apply. Examples: Driver’s License, CDL, Passport, Green Card, State ID, Military ID, Tribal Documents. 

 

Working Conditions:

 A Laborers work is highly active and very strenuous. Laborers work in all weather and under all conditions, from underground to high in the air.  The work is seasonal.  Laborers may also be exposed to physically dangerous jobs and hazardous materials.  

 

Employment Outlook:

LiUNA is known as the first trade on the job and the last trade to leave a project. CCLs 

possess a wide range of skill sets that cut across a variety of industries.  The current shortage of skilled construction workers will guarantee work for the construction craft laborer with skills and ambition.
